We hear it all the time: “I want the biggest TV I can buy!” So, what’s a “big-screen” nowadays?
1. Large-format TVs – In the industry, anything bigger than a 75” is considered a “large-format TV” and one of the biggest changes in the last few years has been how cheap and widely-available these big TVs are getting. Today, basically every model that we carry is available up to 85”, 86”, or 83”. Moreover, monster 98” and 100” TVs are also available and getting quite affordable, even from high-quality brands like Samsung and LG. If your screen-goal is around 100” or less, a traditional TV really is the best option: they’re bright, simple, and affordable.
2. Projectors – But what if you’re wanting something bigger than 100” or are retro-fitting an existing theater room? Well, traditional projectors are certainly less popular than they used to be but still perfectly viable. Our primary brand is Epson, the industry leader in trustworthy, quality projectors. They have a comprehensive line-up, from entry-level to high-end, both in the consumer and the commercial world. And, when Epson says their projector is 3000 lumens or 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, you can take that to the bank, something that’s shockingly rare in the projector world. Pair an Epson projector with our excellent EPV screens for a high-quality, high-value theater setup!
3. Left-Field options – What if neither of these solutions float your boat for a big screen? Well, Hephner TV can get into some of the more unusual options if you want to get a bit crazy! UST or Ultra-Short-Throw projectors pair a laser illuminator with a specialized lens, allowing the projector to sit much closer to the wall. We can also get a few video wall solutions, including some Samsung commercial screens that come pre-colormatched, have thin bezels, and can share an image without additional control boxes. These options are a bit more involved but are certainly unique!
